After the gutter oil and rancid oil cases being widely reported in Taiwan, sensational
media coverage has caused public panic. People may feel that most of the cooking
oils are impure and inedible. Someone even
made deep-fried lard and fried chicken fat by themselves.
Is it really healthy to eat lard?
Lard and peanut oil will lead to 3H disease (hypertension,
hyperglycemia and high cholesterol) or diabetes, liver disease or even cancer,
and are not recommended to be used in cooking. Lard contains more saturated fatty acids and
cholesterol. Excessively long-term intake of lard will cause health problem and
lead to cardiovascular disease.
Is Peanut oil safer ?
The peanut oil may be rich in nutrition, while if the
oil is homemade and the manufacturing process is not properly controlled, the unclean
substances may lead to oil deterioration.
The oil that people extract by themselves may not refined
concisely, and may includes the Aflatoxin. Long-term imposed may harm the liver, and cause
cancer eventually.
After the bad oil crisis, are the oils you use now
qualified and safe? Remember, don’t use too
many oils, and always use those oils from honest and prestigious manufacturers!
